Breaking The Taboo Cover

This film is ending the “War On Drugs” with the collaboration of the Global Commission On Drug Policy, Virgin Unite, Beckley Foundation, Avaaz.org and Sundog Pictures and was published on 7th December 2012.

When I discovered “Breaking The Taboo” it was 1 day after I’d elected to Follow Richard Branson on LinkedIn who in the last 6 weeks has become the most followed man, with more than 1 Million… twice as many as the US President Barack Obama!

Richard Branson most Liked In

WOW!!!

Quoted from Breaking The Taboo Film YouTube channel:

“Narrated by Oscar winning actor Morgan Freeman, “Breaking the Taboo” is produced by Sam Branson’s indie Sundog Pictures and Brazilian co-production partner Spray Filmes and was directed by Cosmo Feilding Mellen and Fernando Grostein Andrade. Featuring interviews with several current or former presidents from around the world, such as Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, the film follows The Global Commission on Drug Policy on a mission to break the political taboo over the United States led War on Drugs and expose what it calls the biggest failure of global policy in the last 40 years.”

This film describes the failure of measures to prohibit and control the use of drugs as an erroneously disastrous response to a global social medical issue.

Contained within the channel is the allegiance of pledges from celebrities “Breaking The Taboo” such as Sam Branson, Richard Branson, Morgan Freeman, Bob Geldof, Dizzee Rascal, Jack Whitehall, Natalie Imbruglia, Gael Garcia Bernal, Kate Winslet…

PERSONAL LEADERSHIP

I feel Richard Branson’s attitude toward the ending of the drug war is humane and sensible for such deep and far-reaching reasons… hence why I put a call out to Sir Richard earlier in 2012 inviting him to the Nimbin Mardi Grass in Australia, the twentieth anniversary of a festival celebrating HEMP … Helping End Marijuana Prohibition.

Let’s Break The Taboo together, share this film widely and motivate the solutions into being…

To Ban Ki-moon and all Heads of State:

We call on you to end the war on drugs and the prohibition regime, and move towards a system based on decriminalisation, regulation, public health and education. This 50 year old policy has failed, fuels violent organised crime, devastates lives and is costing billions. It is time for a humane and effective approach.”

Thankyou for your co-operation and creation 🙂

So in the time it’s taken to write this blog including watch the film, I’ve just reloaded to see what the film is doing:
Breaking The Taboo Glitch In Matrix

It’s impossible for there to be 312 Likes if there is only 301 views.
There is a glitch in the matrix!

I’ve decided to add a little bit more to this story to share the context about why I was so keen to respond to this film and especially the teamwork of the Branson’s. Nice to see family working together for a beneficial cause, that’s really inspiring. When I invited Sir Richard to the Nimbin Mardi Grass this year, I hadn’t personally talked to him, I was putting the message into the collective consciousness making the association between Nimbin and the anuual Mardi Grass Festival and a man who is more popular with his peers in the business world than any other man on Planet Earth! Is this true?

DPOL 420 Nimbin 2011

I was standing on the Nimbin Museum roof the previous year  in 2011 for the 420 moment when the whole crowd turned to us and punched the air shouting “Change the law”… This is the film which is being renamed for the purpose of it being available to go viral for the purpose of more voices expressing by way of film to “Break The Taboo”!!!

Well it’s now 24 hours after releasing this blog post in which time this is the progress on the Breaking The Taboo film…

Breaking The Taboo Film after 1 day on YouTube

This is a great view of the Nimbin MardiGrass 2012

As a final and practical word, in regards to the argument at hand in changing the attitude toward people with drug addictions from a criminal to compassionate health issue, Russell Brand expresses this with a parliamentary committee in the UK 🙂
